Beloved for its futuristic, sporty sunglasses, California-based Oakley has been making much more advancements outside of what fans have come to expect in the eyewear space. We’ve written about the appeal of its chunky golf shoes before, as the brand's footwear has become a left-field flex winning over fans the likes of Central Cee and Emily Ratajkowski. But with the latest arrival from its Latitude line, it does more than present a perfect concoction of performance and style, but flips gorpcore on its head, raising the bar to gnarly new heights.

Rather than combatting nature, the Oakley team designed this drop through its lens, pulling inspiration from its ability to adapt and evolve through change. Look closely and you’ll spot light shapes reminiscent of jellyfish and parashoots in earth tones that are made for wear. Across the range, pieces are multi-functional, with hidden pockets at every corner (even on the longsleeve tee!) and made with all-weather performance fabrics that are breathable, sturdy and quick drying. Whether you’re breaking a sweat doing parkour in the woods, or making your way across a rainy metropolis, you’ll be ready for it all.

Modularity at its finest (It’s a vest, it’s a parka, it’s both!)
Throughout the range — from the removable sleeves of the water repellent long sleeve, to the nylon cargo pants that double as shorts — is an element of modularity. At the centre is Oakley’s flight vest: crafted from mesh and nylon, it unzips from the back to reveal a poncho that’s both wind and water proof. Intricate detailing features on all ends such as adjustable straps for a secure fit, discreet pockets, zippers under the armpits for breathability and even dual water bottle pouches on the front. Basically, it’s the ultimate extra layer for when a hot summer day goes wrong, no matter if that’s up in the mountains or in the festival grounds at Glastonbury.

But premium outerwear isn’t the only area where the collection flexes its genius. The Acquaterra hybrid sneaker combines the benefits of trekking in a sneaker and a sandal so you never have to stop. The 4D mesh Styrene Butadiene Rubber ensures quick drying, while mesh zones give ventilation when crossing pesky streams and puddles. Elsewhere the Ethylene Vinyl Acetate foam and midsole offer cushioning, plus a Vibram® outsole to enhance grip. Lastly, it’s reinforced with double-layer Thermoplastic Polyurethane at the toe cap to protect your toes, and the adjustable heel cord and nylon speed lacing promise a sweet fit — get to stepping!
