A pro sneaker collector and content creator herself, Javadi is the perfect advisor for your new year of fresh wheels.

What's her holy grail? Her biggest sneaker turn-offs? Sally knows her way around a pair of laces and is here to tell all.

What’s the dream sneaker collab you’d love to see?

It’s hard to be specific because I feel like we’ve seen a lot of great collaborations over the years between luxury or streetwear brands and individuals. To be honest, I would really like to see more community-based collaborations — maybe a female collective collab? Something that celebrates the diversity and emergence of more women in sneaker and streetwear culture.

What was the best sneaker of 2024?

I have a long list of favourites in 2024. But the Nike Wu-Tang Dunks might have been my favourites of the year. If I were to name a few it would be Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS Gel Terrain, Amine x New Balance 740… The list goes on. You can’t have a mother pick a favourite child, right?

If you were a sneaker, which one would you be? Why?

Probably the Melody Ehsani Jordan 1 — it’s a sneaker that represents my Iranian background and really pushes female empowerment, both in a sneaker and societal context.

Biggest sneaker styling ick?

Ohhh this is so hard. I think you can get away with most things, but I personally don’t love a skinny jeans and chunky sneaker combo.

High-top sneakers, yes or no?

Yes for sure. I think it depends on the model and execution. You can do a lot with high-tops, but I won’t lie, I probably prefer a low-top. Just because it’s easy and I’m a comfy girly.

What was the last sneaker you bought yourself?

The Avavav x adidas Superfingers! Honestly I love a good Superstar and with the attachable fingers I was like heck yes. I like challenging myself style wise and these oddly intrigued me, to say the least. I really like when brands think out the box and break societal norms of what is ‘right’ to wear.

What’s the holy grail of sneakers you haven’t snagged yet?

Ohhh, I have quite a few. I guess the CPFM Swarovski dunks will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve been dreaming of getting married in those.

If you could only wear one brand forever, what would it be?

Oh my God, you can’t ask me this, it’s impossible to answer! I’m really an all-round sneaker girl. I love diversifying my collection. I can’t name just one single brand, even though my collection is heavily Nike coded.

Finally, what’s your hot sneaker tip for 2025?

The market can be really oversaturated at times and sometimes you feel like you get lost in it all. Trust me, I know the feeling. When you get sneakers, buy something that genuinely makes you happy and be careful not to get lost in trends. If you don’t really like wearing hi-tops, you shouldn’t splurge on 10 pairs and vice versa.
