When it comes to repping age-old British stereotypes, Kit Price is kind of letting the side down. First up, he doesn’t drink tea. “I could probably count on one hand how many times I've had tea in my life,” he says, swiftly putting an end to any chat on how he takes his brew. Secondly, he grew up in Malaysia, meaning not only is he consistently disappointed by UK spice levels, but that he spent most of his childhood in swimming trunks on a beach and didn’t get the flu as a consequence.
Yet when you meet him, he couldn’t be any more British. He’s charming, super polite, and hilarious, bringing the same tongue-in-cheek banty energy that his 1.1 million TikTok followers love him for. He’s also super confident and impeccably dressed, which perhaps you’d expect for a model who, at just 23 years old, has walked for the likes of Dior, Armani, and Burberry, and scored his first Oscars invitation as a result.
It’s for those reasons and more that we linked up with him for this episode of THE FITTING ROOM, which is dedicated to Britboy style. Like Kit, Britboy doesn’t come with one clear descriptor — the aesthetics are hard to sum up in one word but they’re still unmistakably UK. From the Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren DIY punk era, to Oasis in Stone Island and Blur in adidas track jackets, to lads in Burberry coats and vintage country tweed, to the understated flamboyance of rock icons like The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. You could say that Britboy is more of a feeling.
And when it comes to styling that feeling, our hosts Yaya, Elli, Ourania, and Gigi have absolutely smashed it.
