Brand details for
The cult brand for all skaters, snowboarders and BMX riders has a name - Vans. For Jim Van Doren, Gordy Lee and Serge D'Elia it all started very slowly. In 1945 the three friends opened the first Vans store in California, waited for 20 years and finally in 1966, came up with the first, specifically made shoe for skateboarding. It was almost unbelievably practical, looked cool and had the funky name Sk8-Hi. Later, the big players skated with the casual footwear from Cypress, California and the name list of the Vans-skaters reads like a who's who of the world's best skaters: Stacy Peralta, Tony Alva, Bucky Lasek, Dustin Dollin, Steve Caballero, and quite a few more. After many years in the top ranks, Vans is today an absolute cult brand for those who just like to have a board under their feet and cannot do without the casual shoes from California.
