Tiger of Sweden was founded in 1903 by the learned master tailors and designers Hjalmar Nordström and Markus Schwarzmann in Uddevalla, Sweden. As the latter – an Austrian – once mispronounced the Swedish word for fabric “tijer,” the name of the company was born: Tiger of Sweden. In the 1980s young talented designers were dedicated and the fashion focus was aimed at a younger clientele than before. In 1993 the label celebrated its international breakthrough as an it-label. Today Tiger of Sweden is considered an avant garde label. What’s special about the label is it’s motto “classic with a twist” - Tiger of Sweden understands how to combine modern elements and with traditional into a timeless style.
