The French designer Sonia Rykiel was born in Paris in 1930. She took the late ‘60s French fashion scene by storm with her knitwear collections, earning herself the title “Queen of Knitwear”. She revolutionised the fashion industry when she was the first to make seams visible in her 1974 collection.
