Onitsuka Tiger was founded in 1949 by Kihachiro Onitsuka in the Japanese town of Kobe with the vision to give young people a new perspective on sport and to enjoy life actively after the times full of privation during the war. The developments by Onitsuka made sports history, like the “Nippon 60” worn at the opening of the Olympic games in Rome, and the Mexican styles which helped their athletes break records.
