"Why don't they make those cool looking vintage leather jackets from old films anymore?" Such was the question seasoned traveller and Khujo founder Tobias Schroeder found himself repeatedly asking during a visit to Manhattan's lower East Side. Once back in Hamburg he began to think more about the notion of developing a jacket brand that would encompass the retro style that had made such an impression on his travels. Despite possessing little design knowledge or finances to back up his idea he was rich in one sense- in enthusiasm, and in 1996 the brand Khujo was born! A name free of literal meanings, Khujo would come to represent an individual style figure who knows the places to see and be seen. The result was a range of jacket designs that the makers themselves were proud to wear; a meticulous developing of fabrics, finishings and labels achieving the authentic look for which the brand is now revered. Khujo expanded quickly to have stores all over Europe and now produces more than just vintage inspired jackets for men and women, becoming a full range following the launch of Khujo streetwear in 2010.
