Finance & Accounting

Our Finance team is made up of four departments – Accounting, Controlling, Payment and Treasury.

Our Accounting team is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping and keeping track of all financial in and outgoings at Zalando. Because of our rapid international growth, we have to deal with both national and international tax laws and a range of currencies. We also provide monthly and yearly finance reports as well as tax returns and reports.

Our Controlling team assesses the overall productivity of the whole company – it is their responsibility to create and maintain qualitative and quantitative taxation software in order to control, direct and adjust the variables to meet strategic targets. They interpret results, coordinate data and support and advice management in their financial decisions.

The Payment team’s job is to take care of all customer transactions, from all international sites. They maintain and regularly analyse checkout processes and cash flow, while our accounts receivable accountants manage any outstanding balances as well as supporting and advising Customer Services on accounts related enquiries. This team also helps prevent fraud by evaluating risks as well as dealing with after sales customer contact.

Our Treasury experts specialise in the management of the Zalando Group’s assets. They are responsible for assessing risks and predicting any future problems, such as weather affecting logistics or the availability of materials.
